PEGASIS is a vocal trio of Dominican sisters (Marvelis, Rissel, and Yaina Peguero) and jazz guitarist Matt Hillman. Currently based out of Green Bay, Wisconsin, the four members write, produce, and perform their original music. Their lyrics speak of the struggles and triumphs of everyday life, on being kind to our minds and bodies, on finding love and happiness, first and foremost within ourselves, and accepting each other as a part of the global collective we call humanity.

From an early age, music was an integral part of the trio’s lives. Their parents, also musicians, spent much of their time traveling to different places to sing. This would become the beginning of Marvelis, Rissel, and Yaina's love of music and performing.

PEGASIS came about when Matt Hillman joined the trio bringing his extensive experience in jazz guitar. Matt studied at The McNally School of Music and would finish his jazz studies undergrad at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay where he would meet Rissel, his future wife and music partner. The two formed a Jazz Duo called ‘M.a.R’ and released two albums (‘The Fourth Mode’ and ‘Reflections’) in which Marvelis and Yaina would provide background vocals. The two groups spent the better part of two years performing at each other's shows before making the decision to morph the two groups into one, thus creating PEGASIS.

Since then, they’ve performed in places like The Grand in Oshkosh, The Meyer Theater, The Tarlton Theater, Oshkosh Jazz Festival, Mile of Music, The Monroe, the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, and many more. PEGASIS has also collaborated closely with artists such as Steve March-Torme, Michael Bailey of Vic Ferrari, Michael Underwood, Jerry Sparkman, Jeremy Seelig, Andy Mertens, Ross Catterton, Kurt Shipe, and many more.

PEGASIS was recently nominated for a WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) award as Best World/Reggae/Ska/Latin artist and performed a showcase of their music at Stack and Steeples, a music series featuring all original music. In 2020, PEGASIS released their debut project titled ‘ONE’ and have since released a new single titled ‘Sanity’.

In 2022 PEGASIS released their second project "TWO", with all original music and a smooth funky beat. They also have many other smaller projects including their highly anticipated Spanish EP in collaboration with their father, Roberto Peguero, set to be released September 2022.
